welcome to photos of your real life.

We all want to remember these moments.

But it’s super hard to pull out of the grind to smell the proverbial roses… when you’re chasing your 2 year old through the house mid-potty training, wondering who the heck you are, how you got here, and why a pants-less hooligan has the run of the house.

No? Just me? :D

And also wondering - why you can’t drink a hot cup of coffee before it’s cold - or spilled - or both.

To beginnings and endings.
And to middles, the unsung heroes.

So here we are, in the middle. Unsung heroes. Still waiting for the real adults to show up, trying to figure ourselves out, live our best lives, and work to make the world a better place for our younglings… in the midst of piles of laundry, dishes, and hopefully a shower every once in awhile.

But still… you feel ferociously how precious this life is. That there is meaning and purpose and joy here, along with the exhaustion and confusion and frustration. Let’s make the photos that tell all of your story, as you are right now. Your future self will thank you.

Real Life is the best

Family photos = matching outfits on a blanket in a field? FALSE. Your family photos will tell the story of you. As a mama and as a photographer - I’ve been there. In those coordinating outfits, in the field, on the blanket.

Something changed for me after kid #2 showed up and life got a little… crazier. I wanted to make photos that reflected the really real, can’t-make-this-up, highs and lows and everythings-in-between of our life together. So that’s what I’ll make for you. The story of your life that you couldn’t make up if you tried.

A snippet about alex

For your convenience, I've broken it down into three parts: professional resume, athletic and special skills resume, and Dwight Schrute trivia.

Hahaha. I’m a massive fan of The Office. I have two small boys. I can’t imagine spending over two hours watching a whole movie, but I would happily sit and watch trailers forever. And I think helping you see how awesome your life is (in the middle of all-the-things) is one of the best ways I get to serve in this precious life of mine.
